REGISTRATION FORM

Thank you for your interest in Rocky Road Driving School for your driver's ed needs! Please read this information then continue filling out the form and hit the SUBMIT button at the bottom to ESTABLISH YOUR ROCKY ROAD STUDENT PROFILE for communication purposes only.


Most students can and are encouraged to REGISTER with a driver education school before purchasing a permit at the DMV. However, according to Idaho Law - PRIOR TO BEGINNING ANY PART of a driver education course: 

  • All students MUST be at least age 14.5 AND purchase a Student Learner Permit OR Adult Learner Permit from the Idaho Department of Motor Vehicles

  • Once we receive a photo of your Idaho learner's permit purchase receipt, we will send you the link needed to make your payment online and get started right away 

The following students must have purchased an Idaho issued Student Learner Permit OR Adult Learner Permit to REGISTER:

  • Any IN-CAR INSTRUCTION ONLY student using an alternative online course/program from another entity

  • Any ADULT student over age 17

  • Any TRANSFER student from another driving school/program outside the state of Idaho 

    • OUT OF STATE TRANSFER STUDENTS are required to contact the State Department of Education (SDE) Coordinator at 208-332-6984 to OBTAIN AN APPROVAL LETTER that outlines what part (if any) of your out of state driver education is approved as transferrable and what must be completed with an Idaho driving school to meet the driver education requirements as outlined in the Idaho Graduated Driver's Licensing (GDL) program.

COMPLETE: Includes ALL Idaho GDL Drivers Ed requirements for teens age 14.5 to 17

  • Idaho STUDENT Learner Permit NOT required to register, but required to start driver ed program

  • 30hrs online classroom course, 6hrs observation & 6hrs behind the wheel driving instruction

  • $480

IN-CAR ONLY: Includes 6hrs of behind the wheel driving instruction ONLY

  • Idaho Student or Adult Learner Permit required to register

  • For Adults over 17 OR teens enrolled in a different Idaho DMV approved online/class course

  • $420 

ADULT/PRIVATE (by the hour): Includes hourly behind the wheel driving instruction ONLY

  • Idaho Adult Learner Permit required to register

  • You choose how many hours you wish to purchase

  • $75 per hour (new students up to 6 hrs)

  • $50 per hour (existing students)

  • Paid at time services are rendered (cash/check only)

ADULT/PRIVATE (6hrs): Discounted package includes 6hrs of behind the wheel driving instruction ONLY

  • Idaho Adult Learner Permit required to register

  • 6 hrs of driving scheduled together in advance over a period of 3-6 days

  • $420

  • Paid in advance (credit or debit card online only)

EPG - EMPOWERING PARENT GRANT FUNDS - please register and choose " 2025 EPG - COMPLETE "(Empowering Parents Grant) and we will contact you with the next required steps to get your funds approved.


**JEM -If you are part of JEM Friends and will be granted funds to pay for our ADULT/PRIVATE driving lessons at the time services are rendered, please select the JEM option listed to specify

IN-CAR INSTRUCTION ONLY - IDAHO STUDENT / ADULT LEARNER PERMIT REQUIRED

Students who have already enrolled in or completed a different Idaho DMV approved online/classroom driver education course and need 6 hours of IN-CAR INSTRUCTION ONLY, please select the one option that applies.

  • Must email photo of permit using the IN-CAR ONLY button link in the PAY tab of our website

  • Must email proof of START DATE and COMPLETION CERTIFICATE from other driving school to complete enrollment (email: [email protected])

  • OUT OF STATE TRANSFER STUDENTS are required to contact the State Department of Education (SDE) Coordinator at 208-332-6984 to OBTAIN AN APPROVAL LETTER that outlines what part (if any) of your out of state driver education is approved as transferrable and what must be completed with an Idaho driving school to meet the driver education requirements as outlined in the Idaho Graduated Driver's Licensing (GDL) program. *** MUST EMAIL COPY OF SDE LETTER to [email protected]

  • Driving lessons will only be scheduled after ALL documentation listed above AND hard copy permit has arrived in our office

ADULT/PRIVATE DRIVING LESSONS - IDAHO ADULT LEARNER PERMIT REQUIRED

  • Must email photo of permit using the ADULT/PRIVATE button link in the PAY tab of our website

  • Include the following scheduling and transportation needs in the notes section below or add to your your email when submitting the photo of your permit: 

  1. Total number of hours desired

  2. Skill level (beginner/intermediate/advanced)

  3. Availability (include time frames): 

  4. Can meet instructor at one of the following WestAda High Schools in our Meridian service area: Centennial / Meridian / Mtn.View / Owyhee / Rocky Mtn. 

  5. Need to be picked up & dropped of at other school/work/home ( we can not guarantee this option, but can consider)

  6. Any special needs or accommodations we should be aware of that may affect the teaching process
